The Purdue Polytechnic Englewood track and field program made history this past Saturday at the Hoosier State Relays, marking a major milestone for the growing Techies program. For the first time in school history, Techies athletes qualified for and competed in the Indoor State Finals, showcasing the continued rise of the program on the state stage. Leading the way on the boys side was senior Kealan Moore, who delivered a record-breaking performance in the 60m hurdles. Moore set a new school record with a time of 8.63 seconds, continuing his outstanding senior season. On the girls side, sophomore Ro’Niya McNeil competed in the high jump and also played a key role in the girls 4x200 meter relay team. McNeil teamed up with seniors Sharr Mays and Coreah Lewis, along with junior Myracle Williams-Hatchett, to deliver another historic performance. The relay team broke the school record in the 4x200m, finishing with an impressive time of 1:53.33. Competing at the Hoosier State Relays against some of the top athletes in Indiana, the Techies proved they belong among the state’s best while continuing to set new standards for the program.
