🏃‍♂️ Techies Open Track Season with Record Performances at UIndy 🏃‍♀️ It was a late night at the Bubble at UIndy for the Purdue Polytechnic Englewood track team on Saturday. What is usually a long evening meet became even longer when a power outage delayed competition for about 30 minutes. Despite the delay, the Techies made the most of the night with several school record performances to open the season. On the boys side, senior Kealan Moore broke a four-year-old school record in the 60m dash, finishing with a time of 7.41 seconds. Senior Kendall Moore also made history by setting a new indoor shot put record with a throw of 33’ 8.75”. The girls team also delivered several standout performances. Senior Coreah Lewis tied her teammate’s school record in the 60m dash, clocking a time of 8.74 seconds. Lewis also helped lead the record-breaking 4x200 meter relay team, joining Myracle Williams-Hatchett, Sharr Mays, and sophomore Ro’Niya McNeil to run a time of 1:55.64. McNeil added another highlight to the night by breaking the indoor high jump school record with a jump of 5’0”, a mark that could potentially qualify her for the Indoor State Finals. Overall, it was a strong opening meet for the Techies, showing promising performances across the roster. The team will be back in action this Saturday as they travel to Brownsburg for the Bulldog Individual Meet.
